C.R. Non-passenger Coaching Stock Kits

The specification for all the non-passenger coaching stock kits is as follows:

Photo-etched brass body and underframe;
Etched and investment cast brass details and fittings;
Etched compensated bogies with full brake gear and cast details or compensated 6 wheel underframes as appropriate;
Extruded aluminium roof (CC9 and CC26) or photo-etched brass roof (CC17-19);
All wire, glazing material etc as appropriate;
Sprung buffers and superbly turned and milled "T" door handles.

CC09  4mm scale 30' 6-wheel Passenger Brake Van, Diagram 18, Lot H355.

Said to be chilly and rough riding because of the concrete floor, these vans were built in 1921 and dual fitted from new.

CC17  4mm scale 30' 6 wheel Covered Carriage Truck, Diagram 87A, Lots H300, H322 & H350

Built 1912 to 1920. Also built to goods Diagram 101, Lots G324 & G346 in 1913 & 14 - these were classed as Motor Car Vans by the L.M.S. The last survivor was withdrawn in 1960.

Built in 1914 these were officially goods stock but they were built to full passenger stock standards.

Built 1912 the last survivor was withdrawn in 1951.

This lot of 6 vans was built in 1914 with an underframe and body style which was very similar to contemporary passenger coaches (see CC21-24 for example). The last was withdrawn at the end of 1958.

Caledonian Railway Coat of Arms

"Wha dare meddle wi' me" - a loose translation of the Scottish motto (nemo me impune lacessit, litterly meaning "no-one provokes me with impunity") which was appropriated along with the Scottish coat of arms (without any sanction from the Lord Lyon, King of Arms) by the Caledonian Railway Co.
